Info Bite: University of Saskatchewan Research Study
& Allan Blair Cancer Centre Supports
Join Inpower for this FREE double feature info bite virtual event.
First, you'll learn more about the University of Saskatchewan's latest research study that conducts a biomechanical analysis of the impact of reconstruction and mastectomy. Sounds complicated? Basically, USask is looking more into the impact of different breast cancer surgeries and radiation on mobility in your shoulders and upper body. They are looking for participants and pay you $50 to be assessed. In this session, Dr. Kenzie Friesen and Dr. Angelica Lang will explain more about the study and what they hope to accomplish. Learn more about the study here. Next, you'll have a chance to hear about about the amazing programs offered through the Allan Blair Cancer Centre. Jamie Woytiuk is a Clinical Oncology Social Worker based out of the ABCC. She has been focusing on education/group coordination for patients and staff. Specifically, she's focused on the intersection of creativity and therapeutic support, as she has certificates in expression art therapy, photo therapy, mindfulness photography and therapeutic photography. Jamie is also an instructor for the Mental Health and Wellness Curriculum with the Saskatchewan Indian Institute of Technologies - so we can certainly learn a lot from her! This virtual session begins at 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 10 (but feel free to pop on when it is convenient for you). Please email [email protected] for the Zoom link. |
